The Dual Gantry Drive Splitter Board was designed following requests from customers who were building overhead routers, and wanted a positive gantry drive without the need to design a mechanical tie
The splitter board allows the dual driving of two motors, such as on an overhead gantry, without wasting an axis output from your software. The splitter board will control two TEKdrives simultaneously from one axis output from your Controller board. The main benefit of the splitter board is in re-aligning your gantry after a collision or after power down. If you mount a homing switch on either side of the gantry and perform a homing operation both sides will move back to their home positions, but as each side reaches its respective home switch it will stop. Only when both home switches have been reached will the home signal be passed through to the controller. Both motors will then move off together and stay in sync. The Drive Splitter Board interfaces directly with the TEKdrives and our control interface boards and can be jumper selected to operate on the X or Y axis.
