Dual Gantry Control Drive Splitter Board


The Dual Gantry Drive Splitter Board was designed for the many clients we have had requests from. The majority of these client have been those building overhead wood routers, and wanted a positive gantry drive without the need to design a mechanical tie

The benefit of splitter board allows the dual driving of two motors, such as on an overhead gantry, without wasting an axis output from your software. The splitter board will control two TEKdrives simultaneously from one axis output from your Controller board. The main benefit of the splitter board is in re-aligning your gantry after a collision or after power down. If you mount a homing switch on either side of the gantry and perform a homing operation both sides will move towards their home positions, but as each side reaches its respective home position it will stop. Only when both home switches have been reached will the home signal be passed through to the controller. The Drive Splitter Board interfaces directly with the TEKdrives and our control interface boards and can be jumper selected to operate on the X or Y axis.


 

Digitizing Probes and Tool Height Setters

The probe comes packaged with all devices needed for digitizing or tool setting. An instruction sheet is also included for converting between probe and tool setter along with maintenance instructions and Certificate of accuracy.
 
DeskCNC will automatically compensate for the diameter of the probe tip and will create a true definition stl cad file for machining the reproduced part allowing you to rough and finish with different sized tools. NO NEED TO SCAN AND CUT WITH THE SAME SIZE TOOL.

  • The probe is a 5 way triggered sensor and has a long lasting ruby tip (2 mm, 0.079" diameter).
  • The DeskCNC software is comes standard with the facilities to digitize and utilize the tool height
    setting function of this product.
  • The probe will work with other Controllers that have probe input capabilities.
  • It is Rated to10,000,000 points at 20,000 points per hour when used with DeskCNC.
  • The Probe combined with DeskCNC will allow you to scan 3D surfaces and create machinable, 3D
    .Stl files for part reproduction.
  • DeskCNC will perform Automatic tool length measurement to make it easy for multi-tool operations.
  • Simple, quick conversion from contact probe to tool height setter.
  • The tool setter disk is made from hardened and ground, tool steel contact.
  • The Probe roundness error is less than 0.025mm
  • The Probe diameter error is less than 0.025mm

Differential Encoder Adapters

This handy little device is made simply to connect the Motor Encoder to an RJ45 cable for easy cable runs. This adaptor has an RJ45 Socket on one side and a connector for standard HP or US Digital Differential Encoders on the other.

 

Single Ended Encoder Adapters

Like the differential adapter this device is made simply to connect the Motor Encoder to an RJ45 cable for easy cable runs. This adaptor has an RJ45 Socket on one side and a connector for standard HP or US Digital single ended Encoders on the other.

 

Heatsink For TekDrive mounting

This Heatsink is pre-machined to allow mounting of up to 4 Drives into a single rack while providing sufficient heatsinking for normal use.

 

Easy CNC - The Book

CNC experimenters need to learn how to create drawings for their CNC projects using a computer,
how to convert the information contained in the newly created drawing into toolpaths, and then how to
turn toolpath information into the code that will control their CNC machine, again using a computer.

This book by Square 1 Electronics ,"Easy CNC," covers these subjects in detail.

The book is hands-on and full of experiments.

The approach is the crawl-before-you-walk-before-you-run and it's fun!

Breakout Board

This board has been specifically designed to allow Plug & Play compatability for our TEKDrives and Mach3 Software (DB25 version).  The board is also compatible with EMC.

Features include:

  • Optional Utilisation of the Mach3 Charge Pump.

  • Automatic E/Stop and drive disable on any drive fault condition.
  • Fully buffered I/O from PC.
  • Each drive connects via a 10 way ribbon cable plug/socket. No messy screw terminals!

Our CNC Interface Control Stacks take the frustration and time out of fiddly wiring. This neat and compact system allows easy plug-in connection for external devices and is configured so it can be mounted within an enclosure allowing you to expose all of the plug sockets for safe external connection. The Stack System also interfaces directly with the TEKdrives to give you neat and tidy internal wiring.
